Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be current New York State employees and reachable for appointment on the current Civil Service eligible list
(00-218 Administrative Aide/Agency Program Aide) or eligible to transfer under Civil Service Law Section 70.1. In order to qualify for a Section 70.1 transfer, candidates must have one year of permanent competitive service in a Grade 11 or higher level title. The title cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in an advancement of more than two grade levels.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of the laws, rules and regulations as well as program policies, procedures, and systems used for implementing public managed care programs in NYS.
Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) Division of Person-Centered Supports is seeking an individual to work in the People First Waiver Bureau. The incumbent will provide support to the Deputy Director of the Division of Person-Centered Supports and the Managed Care team with the impending implementation of the Governor’s “Care Managed for All’ initiative.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a member of the People First Waiver Bureau, the responsibilities of the incumbent may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Provide support with development of the DISCO based managed care program, including program areas such as: 1915(b) development and reporting, DISCO Policy Development, and interagency Communications;
• Develop databases for tracking COA applications, complaints, and other areas necessary for federal and state as well as internal reporting compliance;
• Assist in updates to the OPWDD FIDA and DISCO website pages;
• Coordinate the statewide stakeholder training/outreach plan;
• Work directly with the Deputy Commissioner in the transitioning/onboarding of staff to meet the needs of the Division in the meeting of the OPWDD agency wide goals;
• Act as a single point of contact on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner for personnel related matters;
• Prepare and edit draft correspondence and other documents;
• Provide general administrative support to the People Fist Waiver Bureau.
