Minimum Qualifications
Four years of experience in the field of equal employment opportunity, human rights or affirmative action. Qualifying experience includes experience with community service organizations concerned with affirmative action, equal employment opportunity, civil rights, diversity management, minority business development, or similar programs; experience in recruiting, training, and upgrading the educational and job qualifications of protected class members; and personnel administration or labor relations experience directly related to affirmative action.
Graduate and undergraduate credits may be substituted for qualifying experience on the basis of 30 credit hours for each six months of experience, not to exceed two years of experience.

Satisfactory completion of a two-year traineeship leading to appointment as an Affirmative Action Administrator 1.

Duties Description At the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), we work to facilitate an environment that allows everyone to be successful for the people we serve and our employees. The Affirmative Action Administrator 1, reporting to the Affirmative Action Administrator 4 and in consultation with legal staff, provides expertise in maintaining a workplace that is inclusive; respectful; and free from discrimination, intolerance, harassment and retaliation. As part of the Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity Development, the incumbent will implement and monitor diversity management and equal employment opportunity programs at OCFS.

The responsibilities of this position will focus on:

- Investigation of discrimination and sexual harassment complaints made by or against OCFS employees.
- Drafting of investigation findings.
- Review and analysis of requests for reasonable accommodation based on disability or religion.
- Effective communication with all levels of employees at OCFS.
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable Executive Orders, Regulations, Policies, and State and Federal laws.
- Performance of other related duties as assigned.

Additional Comments The successful candidate must possess excellent organizational and writing skills, including experience preparing professional narrative reports. A writing sample must be submitted upon request from OCFS.
