Salary RangeFrom $52293 to $66494 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Permanent service in this title or reachable on the appropriate Civil Service List; or one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title SG-16 or higher and otherwise eligible for transfer.
Provisional or 55b/c Appointment: A bachelor's degree including nine (9) semester credit hours in statistics, economics, econometrics, or research methods and two years of subsequent professional research experience in the collection and evaluation of quantitative data directed toward review and analysis of program operations. Candidates must also have at least three years of research experience in the field of criminal justice (a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice may be substituted for one year or a master’s degree in criminal justice may be substituted for two years of this experience).
Duties Description The Program Research Specialist 2 (CJ) will be assigned to OJRP. Under the supervision of a Program Research Specialist 3 (SG-23), the incumbent will work on a team that monitors fidelity among community corrections programs, collects program and participant data, conducts program evaluations, and produces policy-relevant reports and presentations. The incumbent will analyze data and conduct research related to the criminal and juvenile justice systems in New York State, including community corrections programs and their participants. The PRS 2 (CJ) will assist with data analysis, report development, and evaluation of participant outcomes.
