Minimum Qualifications Candidates must possess a New York State License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse and certification by the New York State Education Department in a specialty area to practice as a Nurse Practitioner. Candidates must be eligible and maintain eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs. Failure to maintain licensure, certification and/or Medicaid/Medicare eligibility will result in the termination of employment. Van Dyke ATC is a Tobacco-Free facility.

Duties Description This position, in coordination with the clinical physician, assures the overall safety of this 30 bed inpatient addictions treatment facility by providing medical care, medical program administration, patient education, direct care to the patients and required documentation.
The Nurse Practitioner develops protocols, policies and procedures in accordance with best addictions medicine standards and practices. Evidence based programming is created in concert with clinical staff members. The Nurse Practitioner assesses patient needs, participates in treatment planning, patient and staff education and teaching, crisis intervention and related documentation on an electronic medical record. The patients at the facility are emotionally complex with increasingly complicated medical conditions. The Nurse Practitioner provides 24-hour, across-shift communication and care consistent with licensing standards and NYS regulations. The Van Dyke ATC is a person-centered treatment program.
