Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be employed by New York State to be eligible to apply for this position.
Transfer:
Candidates must have permanent status as an Office Assistant 2, Grade 9 OR be eligible for 70.1 transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. If you are unsure as to whether you qualify for transfer, you may email omhhrm@omh.ny.gov for a determination.
Provisional:
In the event there is no viable Civil Service list, a provisional appointment may be made. In order to be eligible for a provisional appointment, candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a clerical or keyboarding title allocated to Grade 4 or higher.

Candidates appointed provisionally must take the next scheduled Civil Service examination for this title, and their score must be reachable on the resulting eligible list before they can be permanently appointed. Duties Description The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is seeking to fill an Office Assistant 2 (Calculations), Grade 9, position in the Office of Financial Management (OFM), State Operations Finance Group, Bureau of Patient Resources, Operations Support Section. The Bureau of Patient Resources performs the billing functions for individuals who reside/receive care in OMH operated/certified facilities and residential programs and the Operations Support Section (OSS) within the Bureau of Patient Resources provides operational support for these functions. In addition, OSS carries out operational responsibilities in connection with the enrollment of children in individuals admitted to an OMH Personalized Recovery Oriented Services (PROS) program; and provision of Prior Authorization for medical transport provided for OMH patients/residents.
Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Process HCBS waiver applications.
• Maintain HCBS rosters using Excel software.
• Data enter client registrations and terminations for enrollees in the Personalized Recovery Oriented Services program.
• Perform system inquiry functions for various computer systems including Welfare Management System, Child and Adult Integrated Reporting System, and the State On-line Query System.
• Maintain unit files and reference materials.
• Serve as backup for other clerical functions in the Unit such as Transportation Prior Approval processing and nightly Welfare Management System Local Data Feedback processing.
