Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have permanent status as an Office Assistant 1, Grade 6, and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Section 70.1 allows a permanent, competitive class employee, who has at least one year of permanent service in an appropriate title to transfer to an Office Assistant 1. Duties Description The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is recruiting a qualified State employee to fill the position of Office Assistant 1, Grade 6, in the Division of Forensic Services.

Duties to be performed by the incumbent will include, but not be limited to:

• Photocopying documents and mailing records.
• Creating, organizing and maintaining files.
• Entering data in a master database.
• Opening, sorting and distributing mail to Bureau staff.
• Scanning records and other documents received.
• Storing electronic records in the appropriate locations and data systems.
• Processing and disposing of confidential information consistent with use and dissemination agreements.
• Providing phone coverage.

Additional Comments The Division of Forensic Services is conveniently located on the grounds of the Capital District PC at 75 New Scotland Avenue, Albany, New York. We offer a comfortable working environment with covered parking available on site for a nominal monthly fee.
