Minimum Qualifications Applicants must have a BA or BS degree. Excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as possessing the ability to multitask and adapt to a rapidly changing case priorities are also required. Proficiency in reviewing and analyzing large datasets through spreadsheet and database programs is preferred. Experience with link chart applications, such as i2’s Analyst Notebook, is highly desirable. This is an entry-level position.

Duties Description The Office of the New York State Attorney General (OAG) is seeking to hire a Legal Support Analyst (LSA) to provide case support for its Criminal Enforcement and Financial Crimes Bureau and Public Integrity Bureau in the Syracuse Regional Office. The analyst will work closely with the Assistant Attorneys General, investigators, and forensic auditors to investigate and prosecute financial crimes, crimes committed by public employees and related crimes in New York State. Specifically, the analyst will be responsible for conducting investigative and legal support tasks, such as searches of various databases, drafting subpoenas, writing reports, and analyzing large volumes of phone and bank records. In addition, the analyst will assist the Assistant Attorneys General from case inception to final disposition by performing assignments such as scheduling witnesses, processing documents to turn over during discovery, and, if necessary, testifying in court proceedings. Please note that this is not an attorney position and LSAs typically do not conduct legal research.
