Minimum Qualifications 70.1 Transfer:
One year of permanent competitive service in a qualifying title at SG-13 or above and meet transfer eligibility requirements.

Duties Description The incumbent may perform a variety of payroll processing tasks, including hires, terminations, line changes, leaves, data changes, transfers, and reinstatements for BSC customer agencies.

The incumbent will write responses to requests from banks, insurance companies and government agencies concerning employees pay status and income for agency and Special Payroll employees; reconcile employee information in automated systems such as, PayServ, NYSTEP, HCM and LATS; reconstruct employee salary histories to determine or verify appropriate salary and taking into account eligibility for miscellaneous payments and additional salary factors; and supervise lower level staff.

In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for independently handling a number of customer service duties including answering questions concerning payroll related topics to employees and customer agency HR personnel.
