Minimum Qualifications Nurse 2 Psychiatric – One year of post-licensure registered nurse clinical experience, including six months of post-licensure specialized nursing experience with individuals, at least 50% of whom have been diagnosed with mental illness, alcoholism, or chemical dependency; OR 18 months of post-licensure registered nurse general clinical experience; OR eligible transfer.

Nurse 1 – Candidates must be licensed and currently registered to practice nursing in New York State, possess a limited permit to practice nursing in New York State, or be eligible to enter the examination for such license.
NOTE: Candidate must be eligible and maintain eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs. Failure to maintain licensure, certification and Medicaid/Medicare eligibility will result in the termination of employment.

Duties Description Duties will include, but are not limited to:

- Administer nursing and direct care including completion of nursing assessments;
- Transcribe and execute prescriber/medical orders;
- Administer medications and treatments;
- Monitor the environment for patient health, safety and security;
- Involvement in facility performance assessment and improvement activities;
- Function as backup shift charge in the absence of the shift charge;
- Perform other nursing duties as assigned;
- Proficient use of a computer is required for record keeping and documentation;
- Collect specimens;
- Perform venipuncture;
- Maintain nursing/facility supplies and equipment;
- Provide crisis intervention as needed;
- May direct other staff, trainees, volunteers in Nursing assignments;
- Completion of other tasks to meet ATC needs.
Perform other nursing duties as assigned.

Additional Comments - Nurse 2 Psy salary range: $45,940-58,468;
- Nurse 1 salary range: $41,170-$52,552.
- The salary for both levels also includes a Shift Differential of $400 and Inconvenience Pay of $575.

Actual hours of the position are 3:15pm-11:45pm

St. Lawrence ATC is a Tobacco-Free facility.
