Duties Description The incumbent of this position within the Eligible List Unit and perform a variety of tasks related to the establishment and maintenance of eligible lists. Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
• Utilize the Eligible List Management System (ELMS) to establish hundreds of eligible lists per year, including special military lists.
• Develop a strong working knowledge of the ELMS system and processes
• Navigate and utilize various internal systems such as ELMS, NYSTEP and Lookup to verify candidate information, generate reports and research issues.
• Arrange for score notices to be mailed to candidates; notices for small examinations (less than 300) are manually folded and stuffed in-house; large examinations (anything over 300) require coordination for bulk mailing.
• Review requests for and process eligible list revocations, restorations, list change notices, fee due releases, promotion unit changes, list appropriateness determinations, eligible list expiration date extensions, etc.
• Prepare forms and correspondence
• Communicate with various DCS staff via email and telephone regarding the establishment and status of eligible lists
• Maintain various work logs utilizing EXCEL and WORD
• Maintain files and procedures; update procedures as necessary.
• Supervise and provide training to assigned staff
