Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be immediately reachable on the eligible list for the title, eligible for lateral transfer, or eligible for transfer per the New York State Civil Service Law.
Candidates should have experience working with the Statewide Financial System (SFS), Microsoft Excel and Word with constant attention to detail. In addition, candidates should possess strong organizational skills, and be able to work both independently and in a team based environment and be able to prioritize multiple assignments.
Duties Description This position is in the Contracts and Purchasing Unit of the NYS Division of Housing and Community Renewal’s (DHCR) Office of Financial Administration. Contract duties will include verifying, preparing and proofreading DHCR and Housing Trust Fund Corporation contract packages, contract amendments and contract payment documents for accuracy and completeness; creating Requisitions, Purchase Orders and Payments in the SFS system for transmission to the Business Services Center (BSC), State Attorney General's Office and/or OSC for audit and approval.
Purchasing duties will include researching prices, delivery schedules, shipping costs and other required information from vendors, product catalogs, websites and state contracts in order to fulfill requests; assist with placing orders online or by phone; creating Requisitions and Purchase Orders in the SFS system; assisting with general payment and invoice inquiries.
The candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate contract and purchasing data tracking spreadsheets by agency program area - tracking the progress of transactions through the approval process and responding to inquiries related to those transactions; other duties as assigned.
