Minimum Qualifications Eligible for a Section 70.1 transfer.
Duties Description Reporting to a Principal Municipal Personnel Consultant, M-2, this position will provide support to OCO&MA operations involving the processing of the section 211 waiver applications and the intake of local rules resolutions. Duties to be performed include, but are not limited to:
• Interacting with local civil service agencies to confirm a retiree’s civil service status.
• Updating and maintaining the section 211 waiver database and log.
• Reviews section 211 waiver Case Analysis sheets for grammatical or factual errors and makes suggested edits.
• Creates, following established procedures, calendar pages of section 211 waivers and following the State Civil Service Commission meeting, the Disposition Memorandum.
• Reviews and revises, if necessary, section 211 waiver letters that are generated from a database containing data entered by the Agency Program Aide.
• Responsible for tracking the re-certification of section 211 waivers and if no re-certification is received, responsible for following up with the appropriate local appointing authority or state agency.
• Performs an administrative review on all local rules resolutions received from municipal civil service agencies to make certain the request complies with the requirements of section 20 of the Civil Service Law.
• Performing initial review of requests to amend civil service rules to make certain all necessary supporting documentation has been provided by the requesting agency.
• Preparing standardized reports by accessing databases and formatting outputted data.
• Maintaining electronic and paper files, searching files in response to requests for information, and archiving or purging files in accordance with office procedures.
• Responsible for processing, through SFS, travel requests for the Division’s consultative staff.
• Using standard office equipment.
