Salary RangeFrom $52293 to $66494 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have one year of permanent status as a Mental Health Program Specialist 1 and eligible for lateral transfer, OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law by having at least one year of permanent service in a qualifying title within two salary grades of the Grade 18 level. Duties Description The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Mental Health Program Specialist 1, Grade 18, to work within the Bureau of Quality Improvement, Clinical Risk Management Unit. The Bureau of Quality Improvement is responsible for the statewide administration of clinical risk assessment, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and mental healthcare provider licensing programs. The Bureau of Quality Improvement has been designated as the unit within OMH responsible for reviewing allegations of abuse, neglect or significant incidents received by OMH from the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs.
The duties of the Mental Health Program Specialist 1 include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Respond to concerns, questions or complaints regarding mental health care in New York State.
• Answer calls to the 1-800 line from 1pm-9pm, Monday through Friday.
• Respond to any letters/emails that may come regarding same.
• Ensure follow up regarding the concern/complaint.
• The incumbent will also be part of a regular standby on-call rotation to triage incidents referred to OMH by the Justice Center outside of normal business hours. All standby on-call coverage is compensated according to applicable rules.
