Salary RangeFrom $40546 to $50929 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have at least one year of permanent competitive or 55 b/c service as an Administrative Aide; OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law by having at least one year of permanent competitive or 55 b/c service in a qualifying title within two salary grades of the SG-13 level.
Duties Description The Administrative Aide would perform paraprofessional activities in a staff administrative capacity. The Administrative Aide would assist staff with general administrative duties, be assigned to projects which involve some independent preparation of written materials and reports, analysis of information, presentation of information, and formulation of recommendations. Tasks might include such things as preparing correspondence and memoranda, transmitting information, typing and designing charts and forms in Word and/or Excel; preparing, reviewing, revising, maintaining, and distributing documents. A large number of tasks, the Administrative Aide would perform the verbal exchange of information with the public, agency staff, administrators, and other state agency's personnel.
The preferred candidate will have excellent organizational skills; ability to work well under pressure; and possess knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products.
Additional Comments The Justice Center will help transform how New York State protects over one million New Yorkers under the care of jurisdiction of six state agencies. The following list outlines several of the Justice Center’s key responsibilities:
• Advocate on behalf of individuals with disabilities and provide oversight of quality of care.
• Operate a centralized, statewide 24-hour hotline and incident reporting system staffed by trained personnel.
• Operate a statewide register that contains the names of individuals found responsible for egregious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect.
• Centralize and perform functions relating to criminal history background checks.
• Investigate serious allegations of abuse and neglect.
• Analyze abuse patterns and trends in order to prevent future occurrences.
