Duties Description The New York State Education Department (NYSED) is seeking to fill a Public Building Manager 1 position to work in the Office of Facilities and Business Services (OFBS) in the Education Building and Education Building Annex. OFBS is responsible for providing or arranging for building services. The incumbent of this position will supervise state employees and engage in custodial services, maintenance, and security by assigning work and inspecting the results for quality and safety. Duties of this position will include, but not be limited to, the following:
• Administer a building maintenance program by scheduling preventative maintenance;
• Initiate work orders;
• Recommend modification to existing procedures;
• Supervise the acquisition and storage of supplies and materials;
• Observe and enforce compliance with applicable codes, ordinances, and laws;
• Perform on-site evaluation of service contracts;
• Advise tenants and users of upcoming repairs to facilities that may result in disruption to services or access;
• Investigate tenant complaints regarding affection of health, comfort, and safety;
• Resolve grievances and report contractual infractions; and
• Perform maintenance and snow removal, as necessary.
Additional Comments CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This will be a permanent appointment.
*Leads to a maximum salary of $53,606 based on annual performance advances.
