Salary RangeFrom $132463 to $158561 Annually
Minimum Qualifications - Possession of a license to practice medicine in New York State and possession of a M.D., M.B.B.S., or D.O. degree.
- One year of postgraduate training acceptable to the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education of the American Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association, or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
- Two years medical experience subsequent to the one year of postgraduate training as described above.
- Eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs.
Duties Description • Provides the planning, directing and supervision of the overall health and medical service programs for approximately 904 individuals within our four county geographic region (Orange, Rockland, Westchester & Sullivan).
• Responsible for the administration of all medical programs and for the delivery of all medical and nursing services.
• Ensures the clinical and medical staff are in compliance with all external and OPWDD standards, rules and regulations.
• Responsible for Mortality Review and oversight for Infection Control.
• Responsible for for developing, updating and implementing facility-wide clinical policies and procedures in accordance with standards of the OPWDD, Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services and other external accrediting bodies.
• Coordinates the Physician on Call (POC) coverage and provides supervisory oversight to Medical Specialists.
• Liaison to community physicians and local medical facilities in regard to medical care issues referred by the State Operations treatment team or outside medical entity.
• Address medical treatment concerns with families as applicable.
• Provides assistance and guidance to the residential nurses for individuals presenting challenging medical needs.
• Participate as an active member of the Hudson Valley Steering Committee.
• Provide in-service training to nurses and physicians in areas of identified need.
• Other duties as assigned.
