Minimum Qualifications For Permanent Appointment: Candidates may be eligible for transfer pursuant to Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law with at least one year of permanent competitive service in a title designated 52.6 transfer eligible that is within two grades of Grade 23. OR
Candidates may be eligible for transfer pursuant to Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law with at least one year of permanent competitive service in a title designated 70.1 transfer eligible to the Associate Internal Auditor title. Examples of such titles are: Associate Auditor, Associate Accountant, and Tax Auditor (various parenthetics).
Duties Description The Associate Internal Auditor is a member of the Bureau of Internal Audit, which is responsible for evaluating internal controls and practices and appraising the agency's operations for financial and programmatic efficiency and compliance with established standards, statutes, and regulations. These activities require the application of professional accounting and auditing standards and principles. The Associate Internal Auditor will assist the Director of Internal Audit with the creation of an annual risk-based audit plan, participate in audits by analyzing assigned areas and interpret and document information in audit work papers. The Associate Internal Auditor will participate in the preparation of audit findings, recommendations, and reports. Additionally, the Associate Internal Auditor may represent the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation in contacts with other state and federal agencies.
