Provisional:
Candidates who meet the following qualifications may be provisionally appointed: Candidates must be a qualified employee of New York State and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Resources and Reimbursement Agent 3 or a Resources and Reimbursement Program Development Specialist 2.

Candidates appointed provisionally must take and pass the next available Civil Service exam used to fill this position and must receive a score that is reachable on the resulting eligible list before they can be permanently appointed. Candidates who are disqualified or who do not receive a reachable score may not be retained.

Duties Description The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Resources and Reimbursement Agent 4, Grade 27. The incumbent will function as downstate regional director and will coordinate, direct, and oversee "day-to-day" operations at the four (4) "downstate" Patient Resources Offices (PROs): Queens Village, West Brentwood, Rockland and Staten Island.

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Supervise, train, and coordinate downstate Patient Resources field operations.
• Ensure that policies and procedures are interpreted and implemented in the field in an equitable and uniform manner across all offices.
• Travel to the field offices for purposes of recruitment and training new field office managers.
• Perform case reviews and assist in handling the more complex case work including sensitive family issues.
• Handle complaints from clients and the public.
• Serve as the Bureau’s liaison to all facilities served by the four downstate PROs.

Additional Comments The location of this position may be based in either Queens Village or West Brentwood. Travel will be required in the region during the daytime hours.
