Duties Description The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is recruiting to fill an Agency Program Aide, Grade 13, position in the Office of Financial Management, State Operations Finance Group, Operations Support Unit. The Operations Support Unit (OSU) plays a key role in assisting OMH Patient Resource Offices (PROs) establish and maintain Medicaid eligibility and billing accounts for OMH inpatients, residents of State-operated Community Residences, and Pre-paid Mental Health Plan enrollees. The OSU provides training and technical assistance regarding State and Federal benefit programs to PROs and other units within OMH. Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Work with OSU managers to implement new procedures resulting from changes to the Department of Health (DOH) policies.
• Assist with the preparation and review of documents for PRO staff regarding DOH policies.
• Analyze Medicaid reports and act as liaison with DOH when system problems arise.
• Maintain spreadsheets and track patient admissions and discharges to ensure individuals have access to health insurance benefits.
• Advise PRO agents how to provide Medicaid coverage for outside hospital care due to the suspension process.
• Monitor daily reports and review for errors.
• Communicate with senior agents regarding changes in Medicaid cases.
