Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list for the title;
OR
Have one year of permanent service as an Associate Personnel Administrator;
OR
Be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1 or 52.6 of the Civil Service Law by having at least one year of permanent service in a qualifying title within two salary grades of the Grade 23 level;
OR
Have one year of permanent service as a Senior Personnel Administrator or Senior Minority Group Personnel Specialist.
Duties Description Associate Personnel Administrators perform and supervise the performance of various personnel activities such as position classification, recruitment, placement, and employee services for the purpose of staffing, developing, and maintaining an adequate and competent work force. Incumbents may also assist in employee relations and staff development programs. Typically, incumbents are generally responsible for a significant segment of the overall agency personnel program and, under policy direction and guidelines, operate with relative independence in the planning, organizing, conducting, and coordinating of personnel activities to attain specific objectives.
Additional Comments If the number of interested candidates is three or fewer, a competitive examination will not be held and the agency at its discretion may nominate a qualified employee for noncompetitive promotion under the provisions of Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law.
