Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be employed by New York State to be eligible to apply for this position.
Candidates must have permanent status as a Secretary 1, Grade 11, and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Candidates who are not transferring from a keyboarding title must possess adequate keyboarding skills (i.e. the ability to type 35 words per minute corrected) as demonstrated by passing the Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding) performance test.
Duties Description The Office of Mental Health is currently seeking a qualified State employee for the position of Secretary 1, Grade 11 to work in the Office of Financial Management, Bureau of Costing, Rate Setting & Revenue Management. Duties to be performed may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Open, review, sort and distribute the mail in accordance with staff assignments.
• Review incoming correspondence and establish follow-up deadlines.
• Answer the telephone, respond to questions concerning policies or procedures and refer calls to appropriate staff member for technical information.
• Monitor and track status of program activities using various reports, client rosters and logs.
• Supervise and schedule work activities of the administrative support staff.
