MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR PROVISIONAL APPOINTMENT: You must be a qualified employee of the New York State of Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 1 or Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 1 (Spanish Language).

Duties Description The incumbent will be responsible for the funding and contract oversight for more than 50 non-profit agencies located throughout Nassau & Suffolk Counties. This support will consist of, but will not be limited to, rate setting activities for the various programs of each agency to ensure that consumer needs are met within a timely and reasonable budget.
Rate setting and program development assistance will be provided to address the opening of homes, day programs and providing at home support to the 30,000 individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities known to this region.
The incumbent will be responsible for assisting other units in the development and distribution of Request for Proposals (RFP’s) and Letters of Intent (LOI), all contract related activities, and communicate and interface with Central Office rate setting and budget staff.
Additional responsibilities will include:
• Approve and sign 200+ contracts for Central Office submission;
• Review and approve all State Funding Authorization Request (SFAR) forms for Director and Revenue Support approval and submission to Central Office;
• Assist Voluntary Providers with information on proper billing codes and procedures;
• Assist Voluntary Providers with State and Medicaid billing issues and problems;
• Participate in the Front Door’s Quality Review Team;
• Supervise a unit consisting of 7 staff, approving timesheets, requests for leave, performance evaluations, assignment of workloads, etc.

In addition, the incumbent will also supervise assigned fiscal staff who provide technical support in various fiscal areas to Long Island’s non-profit agencies.
