Minimum Qualifications You may be eligible for a section 70.4 transfer if you have one year of permanent competitive service as a Grade 12 or higher, meet the open competitive qualifications for the title, and have taken and passed the most recent Labor Standards Investigator Trainee or Labor Standards Investigator exam.
You may be eligible for a section 70.1 transfer to the title of Labor Standards Investigator if you have one year of permanent competitive service as a Compensation Claims Investigator 1 or as a Public Work Wage Investigator. You may be eligible for a Section 70.1 transfer to the Trainee level if you have one year of permanent competitive service as a Employment Counselor, Employment Services Representative, Labor Services Representative, Tax Compliance Agent 1, Unemployment Insurance Investigator, or as an Unemployment Insurance Reviewing Examiner.
Duties Description As a Labor Standards Investigator you would perform office/field work required in the enforcement of State labor laws governing minimum wages, child labor, hours of work, wage payment, employment agency operation, industrial homework, farm labor and the like. A trainee receives on-the-job training for one year and upon satisfactory performance automatically advances to the full title.
Additional Comments These positions require travel, you must demonstrate you can meet the transportation needs of the position.
Daily travel some overnights expected.
The salary range for the Grade 14 trainee level is $41,993 to $53,606.
