Minimum Qualifications Must have and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
Must have two years of satisfactory experience in maintenance, construction or landscape work; preferably in public recreation facilities.

Preferred qualifications: Have general knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and automotive maintenance and some minor carpentry experience.

Duties Description This position is a roving supervisor based out of the Ray Brook office. Nearly 100% of duties are office administrative work and auditing of campground revenue reports. Major duties will include campground audits, collection of forms, reports, refunds, and various critical paperwork, technical writing, read plans and specifications, computer set up and troubleshooting, organizing meetings, explaining and enforcing policies, training staff, monitoring general campground activity. It is expected to be a year round 80% position, approximately 1750/year (subject to approved funding). Must be capable and willing to operate a computer for revenue accounting purposes and permit issuance. Candidate must be proficient in all Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint as well as revenue software programs such as ORMS. Must also be able to learn new programs and computers skills in a timely manner as needed. Other duties include:

• Must having working knowledge of maintenance practices and procedures used in park facilities. Have ability to use the tools, as needed.
• Must be willing and able to perform quotes, ordering, and processing of state supplies.
• Must be willing and able to produce, proofread, and relay official memos, instructions, policies, technical documents.
• Must carry a NYSDEC issued pager and be willing to respond to emergencies at campground facilities regardless of the time factor.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with the public; as well as subordinates.
• Must be willing and able to read and understand the Campground Operations Manual and perform all functions defined within.
• Must be able and willing to supervise 2 or more employees, which includes lifeguards, beach operation, park rangers, maintenance staff, and scheduling. Ensure that staff understand their job duties and any issues/concerns are addressed in a timely manner with clear direction on how to improve performance provided. Making sure to communicate any issues with supervisor. Ensure that LATS are submitted and approved by the Friday after end of pay period. Assignments should always take into consideration the safety of the employees. All injuries to staff should be reported in a timely manner as per guidance provided.
• Must be responsible in handling and accounting for all monies, i.e. petty cash, day use ticket sales, permit sales, pavilion rental sales, etc. . All purchases should be done in compliance with the State Finance Law and all receipts should be provided to supervisor in a timely manner with appropriate signatures.
• Must have a working knowledge of the NYSDEC Region 5 Ray Brook Campgrounds. Including but not limited to, campground locations, facilities, accommodations, activities, and general rules.
• Must be willing to work with a flexible schedule. Working weekends during summers season, and unplanned overtime when needed.
• Must be well groomed, wear issued uniform. Issued clothing must be kept clean and presentable.
• Must be able to compile, track, maintain, distribute and evaluate inventories, including but not limited to, campground supplies, Uniforms, Personal Protective Equipment, buildings, structures, and office supplies.
• Must be willing to take on miscellaneous assignments, including but not limited to taking on the duties of the auditors position in the early spring and late fall of the camping season.
• Must be able to act as a safety officer in the field. Ensuring Adherence to safety policies and procedures of/or recognized by the NYSDEC. Including implementing the hazardous tree program by marking trees and seeking approval to have them removed.

Additional Comments This is a seasonal position with a duration through 3/31/16.
