Minimum Qualifications EITHER: 1) Reachable on the Civil Service eligible list (if you are on the eligible list for this title you will automatically be canvassed for this position if your score is reachable for potential employment); OR 2) Eligible for reassignment by virtue of having permanent competitive service as a Senior Accountant (G-18); OR 3) eligible for transfer under the provisions of Section 70.1, 70.4 or 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.
Duties Description Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
Under the direction of the Unit Supervisor the incumbent of this position will function as a professional accountant responsible to various functions supporting NYSTRS investment activities. These might include trade processing and accounting related to internally managed investment portfolios, coordinating and monitoring investment portfolio reconciliation, reporting and accounting for externally managed public market portfolios as well as real estate and alternative investments. The incumbent may act as the primary liaison for NYSTRS between the custodial bank and investment managers, coordinating all custodial service activities for investment managers hired by NYSTRS. The incumbent may manage the operational and compliance aspects for all direct investments participating in foreign markets. Quantitative oversight and accounting for the System's securities lending program will also be provided.
Additional Comments • Experience in accounting or auditing investments or financial institutions.
