Minimum Qualifications New York State License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse; and certification by the New York State Education Department in the speciality area of Family Health as a Nurse Practitioner.
Duties Description Provide primary health care services in the diagnosis of illness and therapeutic and corrective measures and may prescribe drugs, devices and immunizing agents based on their education and specialized training. Positions in this class work independently under their own license in collaboration with a physician and retain responsibility for professional tasks performed under their scope of practice.
