Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be current state employees and have a reachable score on the Office Assistant 2 (Keyboarding) list or
Have a current permanent appointment with 1 year of service as a Office Assistant 2 (Keyboarding)or to a title eligible for transfer to Office Assistant 2 (Keyboarding) or
Appointment as Office Assistant 2 (Keyboarding) here at UAlbany, less than 1 year of service, (remainder of probationary period to be completed in new assignment) or
Be a former state employee eligible for reinstatement to the title of Office Assistant 2 (Keyboarding). May be filled from a mandatory reemployment list if one is in effect at time of appointment.

Duties Description Answer questions from and provide information to various departments on campus.
Operate various communication systems such as telephones and computers.
Schedule appointments and meetings using various office tools.
Maintain, update, and correct records and files.
Provide training in the use of automated and manual information and word processing systems and equipment, and office and agency procedures.
Operate, and perform maintenance on office machines and equipment. Clear paper jams in copiers, scanners and printers; replace toner cartridges; and clean keyboards and screens.
Type, proofread, review, and correct correspondence, documents, records, and other written material.
Assist in gathering or compiling data for reports, graphs, charts, tables, or other products.
May prepare routine reports or assist others in the preparation of reports.
Receive, screen, review, and verify documents and/or forms.
Enter data into and retrieve information from computerized systems.
Perform various clerical or office assistance tasks such as scanning documents, and verifying accuracy of data from scanned documents.
