Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: 30 semester credit hours, including 12 semester credit hours in fisheries, marine resources or wildlife management; mariculture; marine biology; aquaculture; aquatic, marine or terrestrial ecology; zoology; marine technology; botany; limnology; hydrology; or oceanography.
Preferred Qualifications: GIS expertise, skill in electronic data collection and field techniques, experience in stream ecology and hydrodynamics.

Duties Description This position will be tasked with conducting road/stream crossing assessments of culverts/bridges used for performing ecological connectivity analyses. This will require an ability to operate independently in the field using electronic data collection tools and involve significant driving and navigation. Once fully trained and experienced, this person must also be comfortable in providing similar training to others. An ability to manage detailed in office data control is necessary. Additionally, this position will assist in the preparation of regulatory packages involving stream networks and will require strong GIS skills. Further work tasks will involve in-field permit compliance activities as needed.

Additional Comments Seasonal, hourly appointment ending no later than 3/31/2016. Program needs will determine actual termination date, which may be prior to 3/31/2016. Continuation beyond 3/31/2016 is pending further approval.

Must have valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation
needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain. Must be able to work in remote areas. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Travel may be required. Overnight travel may be required.
