Duties Description Under the direction of the Director Human Resource Management 3, the Human Resource Specialist 2 Labor Relations will work in the Labor Relations office to support program the incumbent will handle a variety of Labor Relations duties (disciplinary and workplace violence investigations, grievances, Affirmative Action interrogations, etc.) including more complex cases for all NYSIF upstate offices, with additional assignments in NYC when required by operational needs.
Illustrative duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Manage the recruitment and appointment process
• Respond to inquiries from Human Resource Liaisons, managers, and employees regarding personnel issues
• Monitor the status of items and employees
• Prepare classification requests and submit them to Civil Service
• Provide advice regarding agency policy and human resource issues
• Attend Civil Service examination planning meetings and assess the impact of proposed examination plans on the agency and its employees
• Review tentative classification standards with management and draft the agency's response to Civil Service
• Support directors and managers by providing research and other information, as needed
• May assist in the development and presentation of training materials for employees.
