Minimum Qualifications To be considered, candidates must have:
A. Experience
Five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative, consultative or supervisory experience in a mental health program including two (2) years of satisfactory supervisory experience and either:
1. Two (2) years of experience in a comprehensive quality management program.
OR
2. Three (3) years of combined experience in at least three (3) of the following quality management component areas: program evaluation, utilization review, standards compliance, discipline standards, quality improvement methodology, professional growth and development.
AND
B. Education
A Master's degree in a mental hygiene discipline (including occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, psychology, recreation therapy, rehabilitation counseling, education, nursing), hospital/health administration, or other adminstrative area specifically related to health care, sociology, statistics, quantitative research; or a valid license to practice medicine in New York State or Canada. Current registration or licensure required where applicable.
Additionally, all candidates must be eligible to participate in Federal health care programs (e.g., Medicaid). Individuals excluded from participation in these programs will not be considered.
Duties Description Under the general direction of the Executive Director and in close collaboration with the Clinical Director, the Deputy Director, Psychiatric Center 2 – Quality Management participates in developing, implementing and evaluating facility goals and policies to support quality management through providing quality care and clinical treatment by focusing such areas as outcome measurements, treatment plans, and cultural and linguistic competence standards. In addition the imcumbent may supervise unit heads responsible for discipline standards, program evaluation, utilization review, pre-accreditation review, medical records and professional growth and development.
Central New York Psychiatric Center (CNYPC) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Director, Psychiatric Center 2 – Quality Management. CNYPC is a state-operated, Joint Commission accredited facility that provides a full range of care and treatment to persons incarcerated in the New York State and county correctional system. It consists of a 206 bed maximum security inpatient forensic hospital located in Marcy, New York, as well as corrections-based services, consisting of a network of satellite and mental health units located in designated NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) facilities throughout New York State. In addition to its inpatient forensic and corrections-based programs, CNYPC operates a 280 bed state of the art Sex Offender Treatment Program (SOTP). Additional Comments All prospective employees will be fingerprinted and undergo a complete Criminal Background Check against New York State and federal criminal history records.
