Duties Description The incumbent of this position will report to the Director of Personnel or her designee. The incumbent will perform the full range of personnel activities including: Classification, Recruitment, Placement and Employment Services, and assist in the direction and planning of the Personnel Program. The DOT provides services to over 8,000 employees. Duties include but not limited to:
• Analyze issues, identify problems and provide advice and information to employees, managers and program areas.
• Participate in analysis, development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Personnel Programs, Policies and Procedures to further enhance Personnel Bureau program goals and objectives.
• Write effective Classification actions, including assisting lower level staff in the analysis, evaluation, and preparation of classification material.
• Assign tasks and assignments to lower level staff to attain specific objectives, may include training of staff with specific tasks.
• Participate in exam planning for examinations, including coordinating DOT participation in exam planning, serving as liaison between program areas and NYS Department of Civil Service.
• Participate in large workforce initiatives at DOT, such as Seasonal Hiring and Reductions in Force.
• Special Projects or assignments as needed.
