Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have permanent appointment in a Secretary 1, SG-11 classified position or be reachable for appointment on the current NY State Civil Service canvass list for a Secretary 1, SG-11 position.
New York State Preferred Lists candidates have preference.
Duties Description The Secretary 1 for Alumni Relations is responsible for administrative support to the director and department of Alumni Relations. This position requires involvement with high-level contacts and exposure to sensitive information necessitating considerable use of tact, diplomacy, discretion and judgment. Stong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
Administrative support provided by the person in this position includes, but is not limited to: supporting the efforts of volunteer boards; arranging travel; managing and exporting reports/lists; receiving and managing phone calls; receiving, managing and distributing mail and email; maintaining records; scheduling meetings; data entry and demographic changes in Banner; and other support tasks. This position is also responsible for assisting with projects and assignments pertaining to constituent events, fundraising, donor relations, and other advancement initiatives.
The above responsibilities also include: event registration administration, and creation of event attendance lists and name-tags; managing mail merges and other print and data processes; coordinating office supply inventory and ordering; and equipment and contractual services. Additional duties will include: overseeing student personnel hiring paperwork and greeting guests to the office suite.

Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:15 pm.
