Minimum Qualifications Candidates must possess excellent analytical, writing, research and organizational skills and a minimum of four (4) years of practical experience. Applicants must reside in (or intend to soon become a resident of) New York State and be admitted to practice law in New York State. In addition, the Public Officers Law requires that attorneys in the Office be citizens of the United States.

Duties Description The Office of the New York State Attorney General’s (OAG) Taxpayer Protection Bureau, based primarily in New York City, is seeking experienced litigators to lead and pursue complex civil fraud investigations and litigation, utilizing the New York State False Claims Act and other laws. Cases focus on claims of fraud that victimize the state and local governments, including fraud in procurement programs, taxes, and grant programs. Our investigations regularly involve coordination with other state and federal agencies and with whistleblowers.

Applicants should have substantial experience conducting civil and/or criminal investigations and handling litigation in state and federal courts. Experience with tax matters is a plus.

Additional Comments Salary to be determined commensurate with experience.
