Minimum Qualifications • Candidates must licensed and currently registered to practice psychology in New York State.
Note: Licensed Psychologist is a continuous recruitment examination. Candidates who are not currently on the eligible list may apply for this position and if appointed, will receive a temporary appointment. Candidates appointed temporary must receive a score that is reachable on the resulting eligible list before they can be permanently appointed.
Duties Description Licensed Psychologists who work for OPWDD under general direction of a higher-level clinician or administrator, supervise and/or provide psychological services in various settings. In addition to assessment and treatment, they provide the following:
• Clinical leadership, program management, forensic or court-ordered assessments, treatment and expert testimony, disability, neuropsychological or education evaluation and interpretations, specialized assessment (functional, personality, risk, competency, vocational, educational), design and application of behavioral technology and other appropriate specialized psychological interventions, consultation to other agencies, peer review and other psychological services.
• May provide services requiring expertise in behavioral technology, neuropsychology, adolescent psychology, sexual offense treatment, cognitive rehabilitation, trauma or substance and/or chemical abuse programs.
