Minimum Qualifications Must have a license to practice medicine in New York State, completion of one year post-graduate training and two years of medical experience; serves as an advanced clinical practitioner; must be eligible for full participation in Medicare and Medicaid programs.
Duties Description Deliver the required health care services consistent with the philosophy and objectives of DOCCS Division of Health Services. Uniform and performance standards document medical practice consistent with DOCCS Primary Care Clinical Practice Guidelines and Health Services Policies. Duties include assess and respond to medical needs of inmate patients, review lab data, x-rays and consults from outside providers. Coordinate treatment and medical follow-up by outside physicians. Maintain current license/registration to practice medicine. Participate in educational courses, DOCCS mandated trainings and 4 hours of HIV training annually. Develop and implement programs that improve the healthcare delivery to the inmate population. Work with the FHSD, RN's and Pharmacist to ensure medical needs are met and facility is in compliance with ACA standards and outcome measures.
Additional Comments 15 hours of on-site duty Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoon. Responsibility for on-call status Monday Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
