Duties Description Under the direction of the Legal Affairs Specialist (LAS) 4 overseeing the Operations and Contracts Unit, the Legal Affairs Specialist 2 will:

• Asisst in the supervision of LAS 1 and support staff in the Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH), as needed, by providing program and procedural assistance to staff with questions regarding OTDA programs, FHIS related transactions, utilization of computer equipment and OAH applications;
• Electronically review Fair Hearing requests processed by LAS 1 staff and new staff;
• Handle complex calls from appellants or representatives referred by staff;
• Assist in the development and implementation of unit procedures;
• Conduct telephone interviews as needed;
• As a Subject Matter Expert, assist in developing and implementing OAH specific applications and utilities;
• Assist OAH staff in communicating problems and questions to Information Technology Specialist (ITS) help desk, including assisting in diagnosing hardware and software problems so that they can be effectively communicated to ITS;
• Conduct training;
• Prepare reports or peer review reports as needed;
• Other related duties as assigned.

Additional Comments This will be a full time permanent appointment. If certified by Civil Service, mandatory reemployment list candidates must be considered first for appointment to this title.
