Minimum Qualifications REACHABLE ON THE BEGINNING CLERICAL WORKER CIVIL SERVICE ELIGIBLE LIST OR PERMANENT OR CONTINGENT PERMANENT STATUS AS A LDDS, LDDS TRAINEE, OR OFFICE ASSISTANT 1 (KEYBOARDING) OR ELIGIBLE FOR A TRANSFER.

CANDIDATE MAY BE REQUIRED TO TAKE AND PASS A TYPING PERFORMANCE TEST.

Duties Description This position is located in our SUNY Upstate Medical University, Civil Recoveries Bureau in DeWitt, NY:

• Produce legal work and correspondence in final form from draft.
• Verify citations and legal references.
• Review and log in mail into SilverCar.
• Organize and maintain records of indices of legal cases for the office.
• Organize, report on, and maintain databases.
• Set up conference calls and meetings for attorneys.
• Perform general office duties as assigned, such as answering phones, opening mail, record retrieval, filing, e-filing, posting checks, scanning, photocopying, faxing, ordering credit reports and motor vehicle abstracts.
• Proofread documents for correct legal terminology, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
