Candidates with one year permanent competitive service or the completion of a traineeship in one of the following titles may qualify for transfer to Labor Services Representative Trainee 2, eq. Grade 14:
UI Investigator- Grade 16
UI Reviewing Examiner-Grade 16
Candidates with one year permanent competitive service or the completion of a traineeship in one of the following titles may qualify for transfer to Labor Services Representative Trainee 1, eq. Grade 13:
Employment Services Representative, Grade 18
Safety and Health Inspector, Grade 16
Senior Personnel Administrator, Grade 18
UI Reviewing Examiner, Grade 16
Youth Counselor 1, Grade 18

*Section 70.4: Candidates with one year permanent competitive service as a Grade 11 or higher, who have a bachelor’s degree*, and who have taken and passed the most recent examination for Labor Services Representative, Trainee 1, may qualify for transfer.
*From a regionally accredited college or university, or one recognized by the New York State Education Department as following acceptable education practices.
Duties Description As a Labor Services Representative Trainee 1 you would assist in the management and development of weekly hearing calendars for all UI Referee’s assigned to a district office. Supervise; assign clerical support staff to develop weekly hearing calendars; assist customers and provide services to the public in accordance with quality and quantity standards mandated by various Unemployment Insurance laws, rules and Federal regulations. You would also track hearing cases and coordinate with the district office Sr. UI Referee regarding adjournments, defaults and other calendaring issues and make calendar changes and adjustments; ensure hearing calendars are prepared timely and accurately reflect each UI Referee’s work schedule and case parameters and ensure hearing notices are prepared correctly and mailed out in a timely manner to all parties.
