Minimum Qualifications Provisional Qualifications: Candidates must have at least one year of permanent competitive service in a human resources position at Grade 23 or higher.
Transfer Qualifications: This position is designated as administrative and may be filled via transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law, provided all transfer criteria are met. Source titles from which transfer may be made must be designated administrative and be Grade 27/M-2 or higher.
Duties Description Standard Duties: Reporting to the Deputy Commissioner for Administration, the Associate Director Human Resources 3 administers several human resources activities, including recruitment, examination, and placement; position classification and compensation; performance management program and employee services such as employee benefits, health and safety, employee counseling and employee recognition programs. DOL employs approximately 3,500 employees in more than 80 geographic locations, including two call centers. Candidates for this position must have excellent technical skills in all areas of public personnel administration. To be successful in this role a candidate must be a good leader, and have strong communication and organizational skills.
