Minimum Qualifications Current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent competitive service as an Office Assistant 2 Stores/Mail G-9 or a New York State employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent competitive service in a position allocated to salary grade 7 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Duties Description The incumbent’s duties include, but are not limited to: Perform receiving/distribution of Agency mail, oversee the overall organization and management of the Albany Stores function; perform receiving of stock/inventory items; organize the storage area to maximize space and ensure items are stored safely/properly; determine amounts required and reorder points for stock items; contact vendors to research items and obtain telephone quotes for stock items; work with vendors to return items and/or resolve discrepancies; work with the Records Management Officer for the storing/processing of files going to/from the State archives and contact Agency staff to verify records can be destroyed; perform data entry of equipment inventory; contract equipment inventory group representatives to follow up on missing/incomplete records; assist with annual physical inventory; assist with reconciliation of equipment inventory management databases; coordinate and surplus/disposal of items no longer needed; assist with updating telephone records and floor plans for changes to staff locations.

Additional Comments Work hours are M-F; 8:30 AM - 4:45 PM.
