Minimum Qualifications Reassignment qualifications:
Candidates with one year permanent competitive service in an LSR traineeship may be eligible for reassignment. Candidates with less than one year competitive service in an LSR traineeship may be eligible for reassignment IF their score would be reachable in the location of the position.
Transfer Qualifications:
Section 70.1: Candidates with one year permanent competitive service or the completion of a traineeship in one of the following titles may qualify for transfer to Labor Services Representative, Grade 16:
Employment Counselor, SG 18
Labor Services Representative (parenthetics), SG 16
Jobs Program Specialist, SG 16
Supervising Labor Services Representative, SG 20
Candidates with one year permanent competitive service or the completion of a traineeship in one of the following titles may qualify for transfer to Labor Services Representative Trainee 2, eq. Grade 14:
UI Investigator, SG 16
UI Reviewing Examiner, SG 16
Candidates with one year permanent competitive service or the completion of a traineeship in one of the following titles may qualify for Transfer to Labor Services Representative Trainee 1, eq. Grade 13:
Disability Review Psychologist, SG 25
Employment Services Representative, SG 18
Medical Relations Coordinator, SG 23
Safety and Health Inspector, SG 16
Human Resources Specialist 1, SG 18
Ui Reviewing Examiner, SG 16
Youth Counselor 1, SG 18
Youth Counselor 1 (SL), SG 18
*Section 70.4: Candidates with one year permanent competitive service as a Grade 11 or higher, who have a bachelor’s degree*, and who have taken and passed the most recent examination for Labor Services Representative, Trainee 1, may qualify for transfer.
*From a regionally accredited college or university, or one recognized by the New York State Education Department as following acceptable education practices.
Hourly LSR’s are not eligible for transfer or reassignment.
Duties Description Standard Duties:
As a Labor Services Representative, you would assist customers and provide a broad range of services to jobseekers and employers both on an individual basis and through group presentations. You would interview customers to evaluate the nature of services desired, obtaining a complete work history including job experience, education, skills, salary ranges and job preferences. You would identify barriers to employment and develop solutions to these barriers. You would provide information on resources available through the Department of Labor.
