Minimum Qualifications NYS employee with permanent status as a Human Resources Specialist 2 and eligible for transfer ~OR~ Reachable for permanent appointment on the current Civil Service eligible list ~OR~ Eligible for transfer via Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.

Duties Description Under the supervision of the Associate Director Human Resources, the Human Resources Specialist 2 will be responsible for day-to-day Civil Service merit system activities. Duties will include serving as a liaison to specific segments of the OASAS organization; management of decentralized examinations for the most populous titles (i.e., nurses, physicians and counselors); recruitment of staff; classification and compensation issues; review of employee performance and probationary status and other duties associated with the day-to-day merit system administration. The position may require supervision. The incumbent will also be responsible for providing supervisory training and other areas of the personnel arena to supervisors, staff and management.
