Minimum Qualifications Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and experience in financial analysis/data analytics is required. Prior experience with NY State and/or SUNY procurement and contracting (including developing and negotiating contracts) is preferred. Ability to effectively communicate with various levels of both internal and external constituencies (e.g., business officers, purchasing managers, other agencies, vendors) is required. Additional requirements include strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated initiative. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
Duties Description Position Summary: Assist the Director of University-wide Procurement in the university-wide effort on strategic sourcing, specifically in the categories of commodities and services.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
•Active participation in University-wide procurement initiatives (e.g., strategic sourcing, Operational Excellence, U-wide contracts).
•Perform market research and data analysis in potential contract categories.
•Chair University-wide procurement committee(s).
•Assist in presenting University-wide procurement information to internal and external constituencies.
•Serve as a liaison to and resource for all SUNY campuses.
•Assist in maintaining the SUNY Means Business website, the secure SUNY Procurement Officers space and University-wide procurement files.
•Work with all SUNY campuses and the appropriate System Administration offices to generate procurement reports.
Additional Comments Skills: Ability to work on multiple projects and assignments simultaneously; strong written and oral skills; strong ability to work with others in the development of program requirements, evaluation criteria, and, selection process; ability to read and interpret State regulations and guidelines; minimal supervision required in the execution of daily activities; and ability to present/speak at conferences several times a year.
