Minimum Qualifications NYS Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service as an Agency Program Aide (G13) OR NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title at or above a G11 and eligible for 70.1 transfer under NYS Civil Service Law.
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate would have excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheets and Outlook. Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment and prioritize multiple assignments.
Duties Description The Agency Program Aide will perform administrative duties for Bureau Direction and support other units in the Bureau of Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). CACFP is a federally funded public health nutrition program which provides reimbursement for healthy meals and snacks served to children in family day care homes, day care centers, emergency shelters, afterschool programs and adults in day care. The Agency Program Aide will provide assistance to the Public Health Nutritionists and fiscal staff by doing preliminary and follow up work for trainings and program reviews. This position will organize training materials and other documents that are required to be maintained to support program operations. The Agency Program Aide will help maintain the system to track trainings, review schedules and assist staff with the logistics in procuring training space and IT resources for trainings. Other responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining the CACFP procedures manual, various training materials and forms. This position may supervise support staff.
Additional Comments Contingent-permanent, full-time. Occasional statewide travel, including overnights and travel to areas that may not be served by public transportation, may be required.
