Duties Description The New York State Office of Information Technology Services was established by the Administration in 2012 to consolidate IT service delivery to all New York State Agencies. Historically, information technology systems, applications, and solutions were developed and deployed within individual state agencies for specific programs or regions. This has presented ITS with the opportunity to lead the nation in serving citizens, businesses, and visitors through consolidated technology services. We believe our employees are our most important asset in achieving this and seek innovative, energetic individuals to contribute to this effort. We work as one connected community of technology professionals with opportunities for our employees to build new skills, achieve a higher degree of mastery, and take on bigger challenges. We look for innovative solutions that anticipate our partners’ needs, extending into the “foreseeable future” the technologies we provide today. We maintain a working environment that empowers our employees to think and act creatively in the best interest of our organization and our customers. We are committed to a set of core values that drives how we approach our solutions:

• Leadership and Excellence
• Empowerment and Partnership
• Innovation and Creativity
• Accountability, Integrity, and Ownership
• Teamwork and Collaboration
• Customer Service and satisfaction

Duties Description:
The Administrative & General Services Cluster (AGS) of the New York State Office of Information Technology Services has undertaken a multi-phase, enterprise PeopleSoft Human Capital Management project (HCM-NY) to create a uniform Human Resource (HR) platform for use by state agencies encompassing all aspects of employee and position lifecycle management. The AGS Cluster requires an Enterprise Architect to work with leadership teams and subject matter experts to build a comprehensive view of the team’s strategy, processes, information, and information technology assets. Under the direction of the Cluster Chief Information Officer (CCIO), the Enterprise Architect ensures alignment of the project with AGS-supported agency needs and the project. This position will promote the use of shared infrastructure and shared application components to reduce costs and improve information flow. The incumbent will ensure the project does not duplicate functionality or diverge from business and IT strategies, and will serve as the main point of contact regarding technology use issues, standards, and integration activities for the Enterprise HR project and the AGS Cluster.

Duties include but are not limited to:
• Documenting processes using an architectural model showing how current and future needs of the supported agencies will be met in an efficient and supportable manner.
• Leading and directing architectural design activities ensuring both project deliverables and strategy are in alignment.
• Working with solutions architects to develop or leverage enterprise solutions that are scalable, adaptable, and supportable.
• Working with the Project Director, Project Manager, technical team leads, and stakeholders to outline strategy, application framework, and infrastructure needs.
• Communicating with Chief Technology Office Team members facilitating project and AGS requirement are understood and met in a timely manner.
• Tracking and reporting on enterprise architecture deliverables to project members and AGS management.
• Managing all AGS Enterprise Architecture activities and staff external to the Enterprise HR project.
