Minimum Qualifications For qualified employees of New York State on or before the date of filing application, you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Developmental Disabilities Secure Care Treatment Aide 1 or a Developmental Disabilities Secure Care Treatment Aide 1 (Spanish Language).
Transfer Qualifications: Any current DDSCTA 2.
Any permanent employee eligible for a 70.1 transfer.
Anyone eligible to take the Civil Service examination for DDSCTA 2 (Provisional Appointment).
Promotional Opportunities: Anyone currently reachable on the Civil Service List.
Provisional Appointment: In the event that there is not a valid eligible list, candidates who meet the minimum qualifications may be qualified for a provisional appointment:

Duties Description •Provides direct supervision to DDSCTA 1 staff while ensuring that intensive care, programming and treatment are being provided for the individuals receiving services.
•Provide consistency that maximizes the individual’s growth and development by ensuring staff interaction, ensuring that active treatment is occurring as prescribed for each individual and conducting regular meetings with direct care staff and individuals.
•Responsible for maintaining order and a secure environment for consumers, visitors and staff.
•Scheduling for direct care staff, including vacations and casual leave.
•Developing staff work assignments and completing performance evaluations for direct care staff as well as monitoring staff’s time and attendance.
•Will have responsibility of setting up and maintaining a tracking system of all in-service training needs for direct care staff.
•Ability to work closely within the treatment team.
•Strong verbal and writing communication skills.
•Ability to serve as a role model.
•Ability to act independently.
•Ability to accurately observe and document conditions relating to individual’s welfare and security.
•DOH adherence.
•Computer skills are required for ATF, E-mail, documentation and online training as assigned.
•Other duties as assigned.
