Minimum Qualifications Candidates must possess a New York State License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse and certification by the New York State Education Department in a specialty area to practice as a Nurse Practitioner. Candidates must be eligible and maintain eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs. Failure to maintain licensure, certification and/or Medicaid/Medicare eligibility will result in the termination of employment. CK Post ATC is a Tobacco-Free facility.
Duties Description This position, in coordination with the clinical physician, assures the overall safety of this 85 bed inpatient addictions treatment facility by providing medical care, medical program administration, patient education, direct care to the patients and required documentation. The NP is an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team. They participate in and serve as health adviser at Treatment Team meetings, as well as assist in patient care and facility operations. The incumbent will perform the following general duties:
Examine patients to determine the nature of the medical/ psychiatric complaint and the treatment to be prescribed; Author medication orders and clarify orders when required with nursing; Review preadmission information to determine psychiatric and or medical appropriateness prior to admission; establish the admitting diagnoses and final diagnoses upon discharge; Conduct physical examinations, assessments and consultations; respond to emergencies, assess and treat patients with co-occurring disorders; provide educational lectures/groups to patients and or staff as needed, perform other duties as assigned; completion of other tasks to meet ATC needs, assist with coverage in other ATCs as needed, provides 24-hour, across-shift communication and care consistent with licensing standards and NYS regulations, Provide mental health/psychiatric care to all patients as needed (to include prescribing appropriate medication using e-prescribing and EMR), provide sick call care (e.g., examine patient, order, and/or render treatment as necessary and follow-up as necessary) In addition, will actively participate in activities intended to improve patient care and facility operations
Additional Comments Location Pay: $3,026
Geographic Pay: $12,871
