Minimum Qualifications REASSIGNMENT QUALIFICATIONS: An employee with one year permanent competitive service as an Office Assistant 2 (Customer Service), Grade 9 (title change from Agency Services Representative) is eligible for reassignment to any location where a vacancy exists in the title.
An employee with less than one year permanent competitive service is eligible for reassignment to a different geographic location only if the employee is reachable for appointment in the new location.
TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS: One year of permanent competitive service in an appropriate title such as: Office Assistant 2, Grade 9 (title change from Clerk 2; Office Assistant 2 (Calculations), Grade 9 (title change from Calculations Clerk 2); Office Assistant 2 (Stores/Mail), Grade 9 (title change from Senior Mail and Supply Clerk); Office Assistant 2 (Keyboarding), Grade 9 (title change from Keyboard Specialist 2 and Sr. Data Entry Machine Operator); and Sr. Employment Security Clerk, Grade 9.
Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES: As an Office Assistant 2 (Customer Service), you would have constant communication with various individuals to field questions, elicit and convey information, and resolve issues. Duties include responding in various forms (verbal and written) to questions from the general public or others concerning the operation of the unit or program area and/or to explain and interpret agency rules, regulations, policies, or procedures; resolving work problems and work related problems such as settling complaints from difficult clients; interviewing clients to obtain detailed information to perform tasks such as completing forms, records, or documents and determining the appropriate course of action based on that information; evaluating documentation and pursuant to that evaluation, issue permits, licenses and other official permissions based on established guidelines, standards, procedures, laws, rules and regulations; performing an initial assessment of applicant eligibility for program services or for the validity of claims; explaining reasons for agency determinations; resolving complaints or problems; contacting various people to obtain information to make proper determinations; contacting clients, applicants and others to set up interviews, hearings or similar interactions; and determining and collecting fees.
