Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in an art or design field such as art, drawing, painting, illustration, digital design, or interactive media; or associate’s degree in the same fields and two years of experience.

Preferred Skills:

• One or more years of experience with graphic design, digital experience preferred
• Proficiency in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat
• Detail oriented and organized, with the ability to complete assignments quickly and accurately
• Understanding of digital technologies and trends

Duties Description Under the direction of the Lead Digital Designer, the Graphic Designer 1 will work collaboratively with the NY.Gov digital team to create digital assets for the NY.Gov and Governor.NY.Gov websites, and maintain an organized inventory of all original graphics. This position involves a flexible work schedule and will require working some nights and weekends to complete priority assignments. Some travel to NYC may be required on occasion.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Create and design visually appealing modern digital assets in accordance with New York State branding and style guidelines. This may include website mockups, infographics, logos, Gifs, charts, PowerPoints, social media graphics, and resizing or cropping images.
• Ensure design work is precise, accurate, and adheres to all New York State branding guidelines.
• Follow creative design technologies and trends, in accordance with statewide guidelines.
• Provide creative support for other projects and assignments on an ad-hoc basis.
