Minimum Qualifications Candidate must have one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service as an Associate Auditor, OR

Eligible to transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Examples of transferable titles include Associate Accountant and Associate Internal Auditor* (*must possess 24 semester credit hours in accounting and/or auditing), OR

Be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list for Associate Auditor.

Duties Description Under the supervision of a Principal Auditor, the incumbent will be responsible for training and supervising Senior Auditors, as well as performing duties that include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Day to day supervision of assigned Internal Audit Staff to ensure they complete assignments effectively and efficiently.
• Development of audit programs that is easy to follow, detailed and written to accomplish audit objectives.
• Supervisory review of audit work papers to ensure they meet professional standards and adhere to the unit’s policies, procedures and audit manual.
• Assist audit staff in developing audit findings that are thoroughly developed and well documented and stand up to scrutiny by auditees and management.
• Review and edit draft audit reports to ensure they are accurate, balanced, and written to achieve positive results.
• Schedule and conduct opening and closing engagement conferences.
• Manage consulting engagements when assigned.
